Amazing Video of "Levanter" Cloud Over Gibraltar Rock
The almost 1,400-foot-tall Rock of Gibraltar is surrounded by a haze that seems to come out of thin air. A time-lapse video of a rare cloud formation known as the Levanter that was recently captured on camera in exquisite detail was shared on Twitter by Met Office Gibraltar. The Levant wind, which blows westward in the area, inspired the name of the cloud pattern. The Levanter cloud in the video looks to be flowing from the top of the Rock of Gibraltar, which is in the European British colony of the same name. The location is well-known for having plants and animals that are uncommon in other European nations.
